Your feedback will help us to understand the priorities and aspirations of the local community as we prepare our outline planning application for high-quality homes, attractive public open spaces and a new road link between Meadow Lane and Leicester Road.

Once you have had an opportunity to read an overview of the plans, and view the interactive masterplan, please take a moment to complete our feedback questionnaire below.

1. Do you welcome the provision of high-quality, well designed new homes in a range of styles and sizes on a site that has been assessed as being suitable for that purpose?




2. The proposed development includes the provision of a new road link between Meadow Lane and Leicester Road to alleviate congestion at the existing junction. Is this important to you?




3. There is the potential to provide a new drop-off area of Castle Rock School if required by the school. Would you welcome this?




4. As an outline planning application, there is an opportunity for local input as to the types of homes that would be provided. What is your priority for new homes in Whitwick?









5. The proposed development will feature extensive landscaped new public open spaces on land that is currently largely inaccessible to the public. What outdoor recreation facilities would you like to see provided, if possible?







6. The development is expected to generate investment to support local infrastructure. While this will be determined by the council in liaison with statutory organisations, what are your priorities for infrastructure investment locally?








7. The landscape-led approach will see the retention of the vast majority of existing trees and hedgerows, with extensive new landscape planting to restore historic hedgerows lost to agriculture and significantly increasing tree cover across the site. This will deliver biodiversity net gain of at least 10% within the site. Is this important to you?




8. The development will be gas-free, with all new homes built to be low carbon, including air source heat pumps, uprated insulation and EV charging as standard. Is this important to you?




9. Are you, or is someone you know, interested in a new Barratt Redrow home in the area?
